Do you observe JANGSEM Mondays?:Indeed for my three of us, everday is Jangsem Monday.
What do you think about Jangsem Monday movement?I should say this is something that is doable by everyone and the easiest way to accumulate merits by being meatless for a day.
Why do you think it's important to go meatless?:Firstly being a buddhist country if we are to consume meat then it is a contradiction to where we live and what we do. Secondly I strongly believe in what is preached by Buddha that those animals on our plates are once our parents, so its unimaginable. Thirdly I also believe in scientific reasoning that its incapable for our digestive system to break down all those raw fleshes and we land up having so many stomach disorders.
Are you a vegetarian or vegan? If yes for how long and why?:
Yes, Its my tenth year being vegan. It was in the year 2008, right after my twelveth grade I came to Thimphu. One fateful afternoon I was at home watching Ethometho TV channel. I was like, Oh my god! I could not tolerate the pain when I watched a documentary titled "mercy killing".from there on I turned vegan.
Has it benefited you and how?:It benefitted my family immensely as we could remain clean and most importantly I am happy being a vegetarian mother to healthy vegetarian son. Its wrong to believe mother shoukd be non vegetarian to have a healthy baby.
What are your Favorite veggies and fruits?:Favorite veggie is spanich and fruits are apple and orange.
Your Favorite animals? Domestic or wild?:
My favorite animal is dog.
What do you believe in or should we say your motto in life?:
My motto in life is, do good, be good and good things will bounce back to you.
